Frequently Asked Questions
  • What kind of Equipment does my child need to have?
For outdoors a "turf" shoe or sneaker are recommended. Shin guards are required to be worn during all soccer activities. A water bottle is recommended. Every player must have their own soccer ball for practice. The right size ball is very important. They come in three different sizes. Size #5 is for age 13 and up. Size #4 is for age U8 - U12. Size #3 is for age 8 and under. Dicks Sporting Goods has a great selection.

  • How will my child be placed in a group?
Players will be grouped by age. Players will also be grouped by size and experience if necessary. AGE GROUPS - the term "U-6" means "6 years old and under" and would include players ages 4, 5 & 6 years old. U-8 would be mostly 7 & 8 year olds and U-10 would be mostly 9 & 10 year olds. In "Micro" soccer these age limits are guidelines. In recreational leagues they are strictly enforced.

  • What happens if it is raining or if there is lightning?
Soccer players are tough; we play in "light" rain. We do NOT play in "heavy" rain or when "Lightning" is seen. Practice may be suspended for a 30 minute period before restarting. If necessary, they will be cancelled. Players should come to the field unless contacted by one of the program directors. It would be a good idea to check your e-mail before leaving for the field. We will get out an e-mail if possible to notify everyone the practice is postponed or cancelled.

  • At what age do you allow players to begin in this program
Players typically begin at either 4 or 5 years of age. We do have some players start as young as three years old. This really depends on the individual, and their social, physical, and cognitive development.

  • Are there any discounts?
Yes, families with more than one child in the micro program can take $10 off the registration fee for registering a second family member.

  • Who should I contact if I have questions?
If you have questions you can either contact Dave Kreger at dmkreger@roadrunner.com phone 830-5712 or Gino Pinzone at 472-8251.

  • If a session is cancelled for rain, will it be rescheduled?
Unfortunately the resources we used (fields and gyms) are in such high demand that we generally cannot reschedule any cancelled sessions. Efforts will be made where possible, however, when a session cannot be rescheduled, no refund will be provided.
