REGISTRATION IS CLOSED....ALL TEAMS ARE FULL (spots do remain open for our "Micro Soccer" Academy program Friday night, July 11th at 7pm and our Summer Camp which starts the week of July, 21st)......"REC" UNIFORM and MEET YOUR COACH NIGHT was Tuesday, June 24th at Dicks Sporting Goods on Maple Road. If you missed it, your coach will be calling you to inform you of practice times and to make arrangements for a uniform if needed. Uniforms will also be available from your coach or prior to your next game at Kenney, players can change in the restrooms. The final schedules will be posted on our web site at the bottom of this page and available at your game. We have over 300 kids playing Summer soccer, we have done our best to honor special requests to play for particular coaches or with certain friends. If for some reason you are unhappy with the team your child is placed on, please use the "contact us" link, and if possible we will try to correct it. Also, our roster size is just a hair larger than we would like and therefore intend to lengthen the game times from 60 to 70 minutes. WEATHER ISSUES - Soccer players play in light rain, but never when lightning is seen. Check the website prior to coming for possible weather related cancellations and re-scheduled dates.

OVERVIEW - Ken-Ton Soccer Association has several co-ed recreational league programs designed for boys and girls residing in the Village of Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda between the ages of 4 and 10 who want to play soccer without the commitment to a travel team. This is primarily a player developmental league and as such , we will try our best to have equal playing time and fun for all participants. The "SPRING" 8 week league plays indoors during the months of April and May , while the "FALL" 6 week league plays games indoors in September and October, both inside Brighton Arena. The "SUMMER" league plays 8 games outdoors during the months of June and July on our local fields in the Town of Tonawanda. Many players also participate in our "Micro" Soccer Training Program. Players 8 years of age or older may also qualify for a spot on one of our "Travel" teams. SUMMER PROGRAM - Our popular SUMMER recreational league returns in June bigger and better than ever. All games will be played outdoors on the beautiful fields provided by the Town of Tonawanda for our use at Kenney Field, now with a brand new concession stand and restrooms. The 8 game season will be played on four (4) Saturday afternoons at 3:00pm(U-6), 4:30pm(U-8) & 6:00pm(U-10) and on four (4) Wednesday evenings at 5:00pm(U-6) , 6:15pm(U-8) and 7:30pm(U-10) game times. We will start on Saturday, June 28th and conclude on Saturday, August 2nd. Games will be approx 1 hour in length and each team will practice a minimum of once per week. All games will have a referee. There will be seperate Divisions by approximate age, starting with Under-6 ( 4, 5 & 6 year olds) , Under-8 ( 7 & 8 year olds) and Under-10 ( 9 & 10 year olds). The amount of players on each team and the field size we use, will vary by age. This is very important, as the fewer the players on a team, the more "touches" each one will get. Exact schedules will not be known until registration is closed and we have a total count of players and teams for each age group. We are aware of the Towns baseball schedule and will try to avoid conflicts.

REGISTRATION - is $50 for residents and $75 for non-residents per player, plus $30 for a uniform if needed (guaranteed placement if received by June 19th). Resident is defined as residing or attending school in Kenmore or the Town of Tonawanda. Registration closes and form must be received by June 19th.

UNIFORM- The Kenton recreational league uniform "kit" costs $30 and includes a two sided reversible jersey (home & away colors), a pair of shorts and a pair of socks. Please indicate on the registration form what size you will need. You might consider ordering one size larger so the uniform can be used for the next sessions in the fall, winter and spring leagues and even next summer.

KENTON SOCCER RECOMMENDATION - We believe that this is primarily a "developmental" league , and as such , we will do our best to insure EQUAL playing time and fun for all participants. We know that kids and some parents get caught up in the score of the game , but our emphasis will be on making sure every child gets an equal chance to improve. The score is of no importance to us , in fact if we could write a script , every game would be evenly contested and end in a tie. If and when it becomes obvious that your child deserves more playing time based on ability , that is the time for you to move over to our "Travel Soccer" program.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED - An outdoor "turf" shoe or soccer cleat is highly recommended. Shinguards are highly recommended. A water bottle is recommended (concession stand will be open). Every player must have their own soccer ball for practice. The right size ball is very important. They come in three diferent sizes. Size #5 is for age 12 and up. Size #4 is for age 8 - 12. Size #3 is for age 8 and under. Dicks Sporting Goods has a great selection.

FIELDS - There are three "game" fields and one "practice" field at Kenney Field. All Recreational League games will be played on fields #1 & #2. If entering from Colvin Blvd & Colvin Woods, Field #1 is farthest away, next to the parking lot, behind the concession stand. Field # 2 is the "middle" field. Field # 3 is the large "lighted" field, closest to Colvin Blvd, with the press box, grand stands, scoreboard and light stands. The "Practice" field is next to field #1. The goal posts and nets are marked accordingly. The U-10 age group will play on the whole field. For the U-8 and U-6 age groups we divide each field in half giving us four fields called #1A, #1B, #2A and #2B. There is a brand new multi-purpose building that houses seperate restrooms for Ladies and Gents. A Concession Stand, Storage/Meeting Room and Maintenance Room.

FUTURE LEAGUES- The "Fall" session is tentatively scheduled to start Sept 2nd indoors at Brighton Arena. Registration for "Fall" should start by July 10th.
