PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Ken-Ton Soccer has several co-ed recreational league programs designed for boys and girls residing in Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda between the ages of 5 and 14 who want to play soccer without the commitment to a travel team. This is primarily a player developmental league and as such, we will try our best to have equal playing time and fun for all participants.

The "SPRING" 8 week league plays indoors during the months of mid April, May and early June, while the "FALL" 6 week league plays games indoors in late August, September and early October, both inside Brighton Arena. The "SUMMER" league plays 10 games outdoors during the months of late June and July on our local fields in the Town of Tonawanda. Many players also participate in our "Micro" Academy Soccer Training Program which teaches them the skills needed to be successful in a game. Players 8 years of age or older may also qualify for a spot on one of our "Travel" teams.

PHILOSOPHY:

A "fun first" philosophy is applied to the program. Our teams/coaches will de-emphasize winning and losing. We place a larger emphasis on the overall development of individual skills, team work, and good sportsmanship. We want all of our players to develop a love for the game of soccer, while at the same time learning life lessons that they can apply in adulthood. Small sided games are promoted to reinforce the development of each player.

We know that kids and some parents get caught up in the score of the game, but our emphasis will be on making sure that every child gets an equal chance to improve. The score is of no importance to us, in fact if we could write a script, every game would be evenly contested and end in a tie. If and when it becomes obvious that your child deserves more playing time based on ability, that is the time for you to move on over to our "Travel Soccer" program.
