Travel Teams

Ken-Ton Soccer Association is the second largest travel club in WNY. Travel teams compete primarily in the Buffalo and Western New York Junior Soccer League against teams from other WNY clubs during May, June and July. All games are within a 30 mile radius. Many teams also play at one of the local indoor facilities during the fall and winter.

WINTER TRAINING INSIDE PADDOCK GOLF DOME - Kenton Soccer is committed to player development and has secured quality indoor training space for all Travel Teams, right in our own backyard, during the winter months of November thru April. Thanks to the Town of Tonawanda Youth Parks & Recreation Dept for allowing us to use this expansive space. The ceiling of the dome is very high, the field is "grass turf" and is lined/configured with two small U-10 fields and one large field, depending on our needs. This quality training space is in addition to the school gyms we currently use.

REGISTRATION FOR 2009 "TRAVEL" SEASON has begun... KENTON SOCCER offers teams for youth players, for both Boys and Girls between the ages of 8 - 19, at all skill levels. Travel is local, meaning we play teams from surrounding communities like Grand Island, Amherst, Buffalo, etc.... Tryouts/Evaluations for the 2009 season for ALL players will be held on July 26th & 27th, 2008 and August 2nd & 3rd, 2008 at Kenney Field at noon. Uniform "fitting" will also be available at the same time. Every Travel Head Coach is licensed by the United States Soccer Federation and certified thru New York State West Youth Soccer Association. Teams are formed in early August and practice indoors during the winter in preparation for next years 2009 outdoor season. The registration cost is the same as last year, (120) registration fee and (70) for a uniform if needed. We had a 99% placement ratio last year. RETURNING PLAYERS- fill out the "Travel Commitment" form found on the "coachs corner" page and give it to your current coach, mail it in or bring it with you to tryouts. NEW PLAYERS- you may use the same "Travel Commitment" form , leaving the team and coach name blank. NOTE: Your "soccer age" is whatever age you will actually be on July 31st,2009 (examples: if on or before, July 31st, 2009 you will be 11 years old, then you are considered a U-11, if on or after, August 1st, 2009 you will be 11 years old, then you are considered a U-10, because on July 31st you were still 10).

KENTON CHAMPIONS - Congratulations to the U-16 Boys Chaos for being a Finalist in the Championship game in the Batavia Soccer Tournament. Congratulations to the U-16 Girls Kascade for winning the Northern Ohio Cup in Lodi, Ohio. Congratulations to the U-10 Boys Avalanche for winning their winter indoor season. Congratulations to the U-14 Boys Bulldogs for winning the Akron tournament and the Odenbach Tournament.

SOCCER CAMP - Bobby DiNunzio returns to the club to join brothers Michael and Tom; as we try to give players more training options. Join Bobbys Summer Camp the week of July 21-25th. Click on "coachs corner" page in the left hand column for registration details.

STRENGTH, CONDITIONING & SKILLS by Matt Stuczynski is every TUESDAY at Kenney Field from 6:00- 7:00pm. Players be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to increase your stamina and athleticism. The cost is only $ 1 per week/per player.

GOALKEEPER TRAINING by Nick Christou , WEDNESDAYs from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at Green Acres. This FREE special clinic is designed specifically for all Kenton goalkeepers and will be held every Wednesday for 9 concecutive weeks ending July 19th. We are proud to have Nick Christou; coach to many Europe bound elite level boys and girls teams and former Professional Goalkeeper as the official goalkeeping coach of Kenton Soccer.

EUROPE BOUND - Serious U16 - U19 players who may be interested in being a candidate to travel and play in Europe; contact Nick Christou or Joe Olivieri.

SOCCER ACADEMY - Coaches, information on the Buffalo and Western New York Soccer Academy winter training sessions for players U13 and older called "Learn the Moves the Pros Use" can be found on the Coaches Corner page.

"DOUBLE HEADER" evenings at Kenney Field will consist of the usual 6:30 PM game and an 8:30 PM night game played UNDER THE LIGHTS. The concession stand and patio will be open throughout the night for both games.

Kenton Soccer Association would like to thank our technical equipment supplier Diadora America for supporting our travel program. Diadora Americas commitment to excellence and soccer at all levels in the United States is our gain. They also host Diadora Cup tournaments in Seattle, Washington and in the state of Maryland; which are two of the biggest youth soccer tournaments in the country.
